Hey I am wondering what are some good products to make your roots lighter and any tips or tricks for hiding them until you can get to the salon
I have normally dark black hair and I have gone a brown sort of colour when I got it done the hairdresser didn't get really close to the roots and it is starting to bug me because I'm going back to school in a couple days and I want my hair to just look like it's just been done so have you got any tips at hiding the roots and any products that give your roots colour
If looked at many products but they are all designed to cover grey or white hair and not cover black
Thanks in advance

If your hair is naturally black then there's really no other way to lighten your roots without a bleach/ prelightener. What I would do is go out and find a dye that matches your current hair Color and a bleach (I'd use the Nordic blonde prelightener) to lighten my roots and then use the dye to fix them up. Nothing will lighten your black roots to be the same colour as your hair without it looking like you have orange regrowth.

You might be able to try a hair chalk though in a brown kindof colour? But not sure if it's worth going out to buy hair chalk cause it really takes time to get it even in your hair, can't imagine how it'd work with roots! I touched up my pink hair with chalk once haha.

I don't want to attempt my own hair yet as my hair is very fragile and dry already and my mum doesn't want to do at home in case do a variety if things and I will need to get my toner redone every 6-8 weeks so she said when we have to get that redone she will redo thanks regrowth here's a pic when my hair chalk was in
My only other problem is because my hair has turned out two toned cause of the way she did it it's hard to find a good colour and definitely in hair chalk

Definitely don't use sun in on dark hair, my hairs a dark brown and it basically turned a ginger color after a summer of using it. Not to mention it's not a 100% chance it'll be even coverage, some hair lightens quicker and the hair that doesn't see much sun, like underneath, won't lighten much.
If you have ANY red tones in your hair, which almost all brown and black hair does, sun in will turn your hair orange.
Changing your part to a side part can lessen the amount of roots that show, but that's all without using a lightening product.
