I think you would but make sure it's what you want not just a here and now moment type of thing. And once you have it done don't be one of them people that has there tongue out in every single photo they take :p

I'd say go for it, I disagree with getting the plastic balls and bar to begin with though, that will only make the healing process longer and more prone to infection, those acrylic balls aren't very safe either, I've tried them a few times and the balls actually break over time, having plastic in your mouth- not good. Especially when you bite down on one while you're eating and the ball just shatters. They're really uncomfortable compared to the metal bars too, but after you let it heal you can put the acrylic bars in, just aren't good for the healing process.

I strongly dislike tongue rings. So I'd say no. Just my opinion though.

Ok I have my tongue ring and here is my experience with it and yes everyone suits it but when I first got it it swelled a lot and the needle doesn't even hurt the clamps hurt more than the actual needle and I have a metal bar and balls I talked weird for about a week my husband says but he was probably just saying a number I think it took a few days til I could talk normal again I was a telemarketer when I just got it done and I could not eat anything big or things you have to chew well I could eat it it was just hard and took a whole but certainly doable but here is to clear up confusion metal bars and balls will not mess up your teeth if you take good care of it like don't go clanking your balls on your teeth all day and your good lol I play with mine a lot though and nope no damage and then here's the thing about plastic bars... You will eat through the bar! Lol I hope I helped clear some confusion and helped you more with your decision but once you get it you will love it. It's my fav out of all my piercings and I just used anti septic mouth wash to clean it but I smoke so I had to clean mine more often then after every food and drink so my tongue turned a little orange from the mouth wash but no problems with it :) hope I helped :) (the pic is right after it was done showing how much it swelled)

Go for it while it's healing though it's so annoying.. It swells and slurs your speech for about two weeks minimum its annoying so if your going to make sure you don't have any public speeches or presentation for school or what not

Its not hard to speak when its done you just sound like an idiot until the swelling goes down. Ok I have some tips for you, make sure you have a brand new toothbrush and are stocked up on mouthwash, soup, and ice cream. Don't eat anything spicy (for the first few days), don't smoke or drink (if you're going to smoke rinse your mouth out after and if your arent around mouthwash use water) I agree with Shaye, the piercer will put in a large metal bar when you get pierced, leave that in until he tells you it's ok to change it. I like plastic balls and bar but I chewed on them too much and swallowed a few so I switched to a metal bar and plastic balls (there's metal inside the twisty bit to attach to the bar) and its perfect. Metal was too heavy and whacked my teeth.. You'll find different bars and balls may suit you though.

Don't eat or drink anything dairy btw^ If you need to though rinse thoroughly.. When you want to try eating again a jam sandwich is good :)
They may ask you is it for use or for style.. that basically means how far back do you want it. If you just want it for show they'll put it very far forward, almost at the tip of your tongue, but if you want it for... use ;).... they'll put it further back haha so awkward.

Lol I never got asked that question! Hmm how far back is mine?? ^^^^

Apr 25, 2014

Yours look in the middle/normal/ a bit forward lol I'll try and find a pic of one thats very far forward. The farther forward they are the more you'll see them while speaking and the farther back they are... the better for um... oral lol (I hope there's no young kids looking at this..)
