If you see dead ends or split ends, etc..why do you leave the salon unsatisfied? You deserve what you are paying for. My trims involve some long layers and my bangs. The cutting portion usually takes 20-30 minutes. My girlfriend does my hair though so chatting sometimes derails us..lol

If your just getting the very tips off then its shouldn't take long at all. and if your still seeing split ends then you should tell the person to take off more. :)

I always say take a good inch to 2 inches. I have layers a side fringe. my hairs very thick and getting long now. I don't often blowdry it or straighten. I look after it. so the only thing I can think of is when there cutting it they arnt doing it all. they only take about 10mins doing it :(

You usually want to get your hair cut every 2 months at least - your hair grows between half an inch to an inch every month depending on your genes so when you get it cut take at least and inch or 2 off to keep the length but rid yourself of split ends - after the cut be sure to care for your hair by avoiding heat products and use a quality shampoo n conditioner for your specific hair problems - I used to have very dry hair due to color damage so I used Paul Mitchell moisture line n has done wonders for my hair - also after I get it colored I invest in the color protection line - ever since switching to PM and avoiding heat (or using heat protecting spray before heat n a sealing serum after heat) now I don't get split ends even if I don't cut my hair for 6 months - and my hair dressers always compliment me on my healthy hair :) so take good care of your hair n it will be good back :)

As I sort of implied it could be your shampoo or conditioner that is drying out your hair or if you color your hair that could be it - there are many things that could damage hair including brushing it, styling it, and the sun can damage it too.

Ohh thank you. I deep condition it and look after it very well. I suppose dyeing it must be drying it out a lot. but I don't dye it very often. maybe its two factors. having it cut well and not dyeing it. x
