Pravana vivids is the best I've used...it takes to hair very well, even unbleached (on my natural color, which is a warm medium/dark brown, I get a noticeable tint of purple) and lasts FOREVER. the fade out is quite nice, too. splat purple didn't. work for me and was very pink. manic panic ultraviolet is not bad, either.

I buy mine at saloncentric, its a beauty supply so you have to be licensed or a student to get in. I've seen it on eBay and various online sellers, tho. or try to find a salon that uses their products. very much worth the hunt, imo they are the best quality and the supply price is very cheap
