Grapeseed oil is a great way to fade acne scars, marks, and skin discolorations. That and a good Vitamin C Serum, which can be made at home very inexpensively.

Please don't put lemons on your face. It is highly acidic and will throw your PH out of whack.

I'm sorry but sunlight is the worse thing for hyperpigmentation and diy usually don't get the job done ,the dark spots go down layers beneath the epidermis that's why they take so long to get rid of,and sunlight makes them worse and darker,if you can't invest in a Vitamin C serum try a dark spot corrector from the drugstore like garnier dark spot corrector and a manual scrub like aveeno positively radiant it has soy that lightens pigmentation problems ,and use spf daily you can always find them both on sale for under 20  bucks.

Honey lemon oatmeal, blend together, leave pn for 15. Be sure to moisturize; lemon juice is acidic!

Traci is right on the money, as usual! If you have hyperpigmentation and scarring, the last thing you want to do is walk around outside without SPF.

Natural sunlight is a no no!! The sun will make any dark pigments darker. Not to mention you should be protecting your skin from the sun anyway. Sun is very bad for the skin in general. So always wear sunscreen or moisturizer with SPF in it on a daily basis. Something with Vitamin C in it will help. Garnier's dark spot correcting treatment is around $8 and it helps a lot. The results are not instant but I have used it on and off and it does help. A product with alpha hydroxy acids in it can help too. AHAs chemically exfoliate the skin and help turn over new cells and break up those dark pigments. I would see if you could find a moisturizer with them in it, I had a body butter with them in it and it worked wonderfully to lighten scars I had on my legs. I was able to use it every day. I'm not too sure how often you should use any other product with them in it though as that has been my only experience with them personally. But they do work wonders in my opinion. Also, manual exfoliation with a scrub. Make sure its gentle and not made with walnut shells like any of the apricot scrubs are. Those are much too sharp and put tiny holes in the skin. Look for something with round beads or gentler natural particles. I personally love Burt's Bees citrus facial scrub. It's very gentle yet it gets the job done. It's $8 as well. If you can't do all of those I'd at least get a scrub and the Garnier treatment. And sunscreen for sure!

No sunlight that's the worst thing, you definitely need a good sunscreen when going out in the sun. Try a vitamin c serum.

I agree with Caitlin n traci on this - and you can also try a 2% benzoyl peroxide to help fade the scars but it will take time and you will need to pair it with an AHA (or glycolic acid) exfoliant and of course always use SPF your skin's defense against the sun is to produce melanin and that is a pigment that makes your skin tone darker - but guess what is also appearing to make the acne scars!? Melanin! So any sun exposure will only produce more melanin as a defense mechanism so SPF is always a must in order to protect your skin so excess melanin doesn't have to be produced.
