How often should I use a protein pack on my hair?

I have oily hair at my roots and dry hair at my ends. I'd say my hair is not too fine or too thick. It's in between. Once a week I use Aussie's 3 minute miracle deep conditioner. Daily, I'll use tresemme naturals silicone free conditioner. I never apply conditioner to my scalp! Would using Palmer's coconut oil formula deep conditioning protein pack be enough use if I only use it once a month? I don't use any hot tools on my hair. All I usually do is put leave in conditioner after I shower and sometimes moose to add style to my hair. Oh and I'll add smooth shine polish to my hair on my ends since my hair tends to get frizzy.

once a month should be fine. I'd say definitely not more than twice a month. protein penetrates the hair shaft, but too much can cause it to swell and break

Protein strengthens the hair. If your hair is breaking because its weak, then use a product with protein. But becateful, not all proteins penetrate the hair. What they do is temporarily fill in the holes, and washes out. Use products with hydrolyzed protein which is similar to the protein in hair. You also my need a moisturizing treatment. I would do a protein treatment followed by a moisturizing treatment for the ends of your hair.

I used to have this problem too! Do you wash your hair every day? I know this is probably going to sound gross, but if you do, try not washing it as often. Your scalp produces natural oils that keep your hair healthy, and when you brush your hair, the comb distributes the natural oils to hydrate and nourish your hair. And when your roots start to get oily, opt for a dry shampoo. Baby powder is also a cheaper alternative. It will help absorb the oils to make it look less greasy. As for the protein treatments, I use it 1-2 times a week, but my hair is bleached and toned, so it's completely over processed lol. It depends on how healthy your hair is. I think once a week or once every two weeks should be fine. Also, a lot of protein treatments will make your hair feel a lot more dry and straw like, so make sure to follow up with a moisturizing conditioner as well. I hope this helps! Good luck with everything!

Thanks for your responses, girls! Lina: I know that washing my hair everyday is bad, but I just can't help it! My hair is really oily on my scalp and I tried many dry shampoos and my scalp is still gross :/ I haven't dyed my hair in a few years, so I think 1-2 times a week may be too much for my hair. I think I'm going to use protein packets 1-2 times a month instead.
