I suck at it though I don't terribly suffer because I blow dry with a round brush to create some bounce but; I'm interested in how [insert your name here] blow drys their hair straight.
My hair is cut in layers and is quite angled from my face all the way to the ends, my shortest piece reaches my chin and is cut into a V shape in the back, so it's quite hard to control where the ends of the layers go as in it doesn't go straight down... It points in a different direction and I can't get it straight. My hair is naturally straight but maybe I'm holding the brush wrong or not doing it right. I tried a paddle brush too but nah... Also it can't be my hair because hair stylists can easily blow dry my hair straight so it's definitely my unskillful hand. I just suck at that and it's annoying not to be able to do it correctly. It's my one goal to achieve. Ah one more thing, my ends were thinned out to achieve that nice layered look so I don't know if that has to do with this but thought I'd add that as well.
Thanks in advance, I'll be waiting for comments, I'm really determined to do straight blow drying right. 😉

I'll start from the moment I hop out of the shower. I wrap my hair in a hair turban and do my face routine. After thats done I'll chill for another while until my hairs 50% dry, then I give my hair a good coating of my leave in conditioner and my heat protectant and I put my hair back up in a towel. I chill for another while until my hairs about 70% dry and I just blowdry it normally on a cool setting, when my hairs about 90% dry I divide my hair in hair and tie the first half up and whip out my circle brush (I've no idea what its called, but its round, metal and the middle is empty) and comb under the root of the hair and put the blowdrier (now on cold setting) to the circle brush and pull them down together. Continue on all of sections of hair.
Thats what I do, I don't know if that's right but I get a nice amount of volume and I don't need to straighten after unless I want it poker straight.

The circle brush has made a big difference, I was using a paddle before and it wasn't coming out as nice.

I used to do the same thing as caitriona basically. Then I saw this video (it's a full makeup/hair tutorial) but the way she blow dries her hair is unique and I use her techniques for it now and it comes out much better than the way I did before.

Thanks ladies! Can't wait to try these techniques out! My round brush was recently broken.:P so, I have to go hunting once more.
