Hey ladies, I just made it to the sephora vib membership (in other words I spent too much money there lol) do you guys feel like it's beneficial to you? Have you gotten some good discounts and sales with your membership? It also says access so special events...I'm curious if those actually happen too ha:) let me know! Thanks.

I wasn't a VIB for to to long, I spent a little to much money and got to Rouge very quickly. But the 10% off when you first hit the membership status is the main and best perk, and the discount you get for the fall and spring sale. Depending on be product you sometimes get early access to things or exclusive point perks.

I agree with Erin. You get a 10% coupon (like really. They couldn't give us 20%) but it's still better than nothing. And that's one of the few coupons you'll ever receive. I also got a free makeover coupon which I never used.

Sometimes they offer double points. And I always seem to get a ton of free samples.

So all in all, it's better than just Beauty Insider. But Rouge is the holy grail haha!

Rouge is just glorified VIB status with free shipping, don't be fooled! They have recently tried to up their game though by giving us a spring event (which was better because there was a discount) earlier then everyone else and a summer event (4x point). The fall event Rouges get early access to as well ( or so I'm assuming).

But they kinda messed up with the Rouge program as there were more perks offered then given. I got a chance to talk with the VP of the program along with some other gals and they know not everyone is happy, but they're trying to fix it.

I started shopping with SpaceNk and they offer points for every dollar spent that can spent on product plus the freebies are pretty great. So far I have $10 on my account and look forward to redeeming it in the near future. Now if Sephora offered something like that...

You're best bet is to go shopping around the time of the fall sale in November then as there typically aren't any sales in December.

I'm VIB and the only perk I've noticed is I get emails going "early access to ______ VIB only" like the benefit push up liner, a week or so before it came out I got an email saying I could buy it.

I also noticed there's more sale items. I don't know if this has anything to do with VIB though it might just have been sephora. I just noticed that the sale page on sephora suddenly went from like 3 pages to like 10.

With VIB, in your welcome package you get a one time 10% off, one time free shipping online , and a one time complimentary makeover In which you need to make an appointment for.

Now for VIB rouge.. you always get free shipping online, get complimentary makeup whenever you like and always have first dibs on new product.. Also for VIB rouge we offer closed door shopping with goodies.. During our sales twice a year , VIB rouge gets a higher percentage off and they get a couple days extra to shop the sale...

Many people complain about the beauty insider membership, but most don't realize that sephora is one of the few if not the only cosmetic store that let's you make a return when the product is used OR if you don't even have a receipt for it. Quite ridiculous but we have an amazing return policy.

That return policy isn't that spectacular or unique... Ulta, Walmart, Target, etc. all offer returns on used/open cosmetics with or without receipt.

I don't really shop at Sephora (too expensive for my blood) and so far this rewards program seems kind of lame. A ten percent coupon? Whoopee. As profitable as the company is (per their Annual Report) they can afford to throw their customers a bone once in a while...

Whoa, that's all you get with an American membership? Here in Europe, you get a 10% discount every 4 times you shop there, plus we get emails with exclusive discounts (20% or more) and offers where if you spend more than x online you get a bunch of samples, they do parties open only to Sephora Black and Gold members (not White) where you have discounts a d you can choose a bunch of freebies...it's good! I never buy anything full price at Sephora! I thought the US perks were way better! But as for the returns, I'm sure we can't return anything that's been opened. I never tried, here it's frowned upon to return stuff especially if it's been used.

Omg yes Emily!! I've become good friends with the mrg at my local Sephora and what her store does in one week is mind blowing so times that by how many other store locations and you have some serious money so you're so correct in regards to throwing us customers a bone once in a while. I spend so much money at Sephora I wish I could take a tax write off on my purchases.lol.

The perks of points and free samples is worth it to me, every time I order online (and sometimes in store) I get at least twice my basket size in samples. Like last time I ordered a nail polish set, an eyelash curler and mascara and I got about 15 sample products. And the samples are good sized too.

Lol you should totally come to Europe then! but the downside, other than the return policy, are the brands we don't have :( there are way too many on my list for next year when I visit my family in the us again. Man, I was there in October but I had no time to hang around stores!

Yeah but I was told that at ulta and Nordstrom your receipt expires? With ulta I know it's 60 days.. Not sure about Nordstrom though

The receipts don't expire at Nordies. At ULTA its 60 days. I returned a lipstick that I used once and put off returning it for 7 months. They took it back without any questions and it was a $50 lipstick. I find the more high-end dept stores to have lax return policies when it comes to cosmetics/skincare.
