Wayne Goss method

Has anyone tried the Wayne Goss method where you apply loose face powder first, then your foundation?

I've been using ByTerry Hyaluronic Hydra-Powder before application of my liquid foundation and haven't encountered any issues and its hot/humid where I'm at. It keeps my skin pretty much matte without looking like a grease ball and I have oily/combo skin. Could it be dependent on the type of powder formulation used Jackie?

I forgot to add that I also don't use the same powder over my foundation either...I think that would be a bit overkill as the foundation that I use dries down to a powder finish. Just a light touch of Hourglass Ambient Lighting powder in dim only in my t-zone.

What about if you use bb cream - then powder foundation then a setting powder then setting spray?

Is that too much powder miss Jacqueline?

Makes perfectly sense Jackie. I guess I just lucked out as my new foundation love is waterbased and light/medium coverage but there is no way I would do the Wayne Goss method. That just sounds like a mess. Some of the things he suggest is point-on but some things he mentions doing makes me shake my head.

I'd think that powder, liquid powder world make the liquid seperate I.e. it wouldn't hold to the skin as well.
y would I do that anyway. least steps as possible for everyday wearable looks..

does this Goss method also include primer?.

I don't have room for all these products. I give up.
:+)

Its been awhile since I've seen it Naomi but I think he did include primer as well. Being in front of those lights and cameras if I followed his method I'd melt. Those suckers are emit so much heat. lol.

Since I started using ByTerry Hyaluronic powder I no longer reach for any of my traditional primers as it fills in as a primer and setting sprays don't dare touch. Far too much.

That's cool Shelley,
seriously tho I'd assume it depends on the powder and what its purpose is initially.. I'm glad that powder works for you.
what made you decide to put it under your liquid foundation anyway..

@Jacqueline, I totally follow what you're saying. that makes complete sense for the formula as you described it.
just today, with allllll the foundations available.. you just don't need to do all that.

but at the end of the day. whatever works. works and I say do it.
for me. I like simple n least amount or products.

When I read reviews on it people said they tried it under their foundation and even the brand suggested using it as a last step after applying skincare products in the PM to lock in the benefits. I asked my daughter and she said it shouldn't be a problem as its more finely milled than your traditional powder so I gave it a whirl. I'll probably go back to my traditional primers once the season changes but for right now this stuff is my new addiction.lol.

@Shelley, oh ok I follow..

@Ben, lol... nothing eitherway huh..

I have dry skin and I primed it, let that soak in and then applied a light dusking of Bare Minerals Original Loose powder, Nars Sheer Glow foundatiom then a light dusting of HourglasS Ambient Dim Light powder and it looks lovely but felt very heavy on my face
