So I want my nails to last longer and it usually gets messed up within 2 days. I've been wanting to change to a brand called Essie. Though what else I can do?

Essie is nice nail polish, although I am not sure it would last longer than any other brand. I definitely agree with a good base and top coat, and make sure each coat of polish dries in between the next coat. You could also go to a nail salon and get gel nails or acrylics which last 2+ weeks.

I've noticed Essie doesn't chip as easily as other cheaper brands but yes, a good base and top coat. Do you clean house? If so, wear those yellow cleaning gloves while you do (dishes and wiping off counters) because prolonged exposure to water and cleaning chemicals are bad for manicures.
