Whenever I paint my nails, the polish lasts about two days before chipping even with a base and top coat. It might just be me because I don't take the greatest care of my nails but I was wondering if there was any way to improve the longevity of the nail polish? Like what's a really good top coat? Thanks :)

I like the Revlon Diamond Gel Topcoat ( not sure what the exact name is)
I also like the Pro-FX quick dry top coat

Yes, it could be the polish. Cheaper polishes chip easier.

Don't paint on too many coats, sometimes the thicker it is the more easily it chips.

Ah yes. I find if my nail polish gets too thick, I throw it out and get a new one (or just buy a polish thinner which is what I do for my expensive brands). Thinner polishes do not chip as easily.

Use a base and topcoat.
Paint thin layers of the polish, making sure it's fully dry before painting the next

Happens to me too. I wear contacts and I figured out that my cleaning solution is so aggresive that my nail polish starts chipping on the hand I use to clean the contacts. it could also be the brand I've noticed that essence nailpolishes chip A LOT. try Kiko, Essie or Sally Hansen those are the best brands I've used that don't chip for like 7days.
