I have the same fear as you! But I think shoulder length haircuts or even longer look so refreshing during the summertime. It's such a great change especially if you lighten your hair and add honey highlights. I personally think it would look good! And if you do cut it [shorter], consider donating your hair to locks of love so at least you've made someone else happy right? :)

Always remember hair grows back! And cutting is refreshing since it will grow healthy. I think it would look great and it will probably take a while to get used to. Do what makes you happy
