It's not retarded to dye your extensions too! A lot of my friends have done it so it matches their hair color perfectly and it works out fine.

Yep you can :) my friend dyed hers pink and it was adorable. But read into what your extensions can take beforehand so you don't screw them up though :)

Were they died black or are they black naturally? That is a big factor. If they are naturally black, you can lighten them, but if they've already been processed, the hair can get seriously damaged.

It's never ever recommended to go lighter with extensions as it damages them a lot more then normally, plus since they don't have the natural oils like your own head of hair they well likely be very brittle and dry afterwards

Its as rozberry says I believe. if the hair is virgin you can do it, but if its processed, then I don't think it won't work.

Only if the hair is virgin you can dye then whatever color you like..I have dyed mine honey blonde before and they came out fine.. No breakage... But it also depend on the hair quality.. If you buy cheap hair of coarse it's going to give you cheap results.

I've bleached extensions before to match my hair color and add length for when I curl my hair and they were originally a medium brown. Me and my cousin tried bleaching some black ones but it didn't work. We used a 40 developer and bleach and it just wouldn't really lighten

If the hair is a good quality unprocessed virgin hair you can go for it. Do a strand test first thought.
