Yep..so that is pretty much my question. can primers for the face double up as eye primers... or is it a must to get an eye primer...for long lasting eye makeup?
sorry if I sound naive, new to primer territory.

I've try usn a face primer on my eyes and it works ok. I'd stick to the eye primer

It won't work properly, so no. Face primer is generally more silicone-y and made to fill in pores, fine lines, and wrinkles, priming the face for a flawless foundation application. Eye primer is a different consistency, and is made to creaseproof, smudge proof, make more pigmented, and in some cases waterproof your eyeshadow. Hope that helps!

It will still make the eyeshadow stick but it's not as good as a specific eyeshadow primer.

No, it's not thick enough. you won't get the best results.

If it's a face primer that has a silicone texture probably not. Because eyeshadow might just slide right off the surface shortly after if that makes sense. You probably want something more "sticky" to your eyeshadow.

I agree with the ladies...a face primer isn't the right consistency for an eye primer.

Sandy, using face primer under yours eyes is okay because it's your face.. Not your eyes.. :)
