Is the beauty blender worth the hype?? If so, what's the best way to use it?? (Like, damp or dry?patting motions or rubbing motions?)

Tbh it's just a sponge and there's many dupes that can do the same thing but I love the finish it gives. I run it under water then squeeze the water out so it's damp but not too damp and I use it in a patting motion

If you get the beauty blender you have to get the beauty blender cleanser as well to clean it

First question: I have the real beauty blender and a Solo dupe from walmart. let me start out by saying I like the dupe better. so you could try that first.

Second question: you get it damp, squeeze it out, and then patting motion

Do I have to get that exact cleanser or can I use any makeup brush cleanser??
Also, thanks for answering everyone

No you have to get the exact beauty blender cleanser, you could try your brush cleaners but it may break

I really like the real techniques one. I use it damp and patting motions! I have tried a lot of other dupes but I'm not to impressed with any besides that one!

Thanks Autumn
And Mikayla, is your beauty blender still fine after only using regular soap and water??

You can use baby shampoo and warm water to clean it...

It's not worth it at all! The dupes aren't either in my opinion. The beauty blender works just as well if not better than classic makeup sponges. Which you can get at the dollar store

I meant worse* not to mention they're disposable therefore more sanitary.

Best used damp with patting motions! I've never tried any other sponges so I can't compare but I love it more than any brush I own. As for the cleanser, it's not necessary in my opinion.. You can clean it with a plain white soap bar and I promise you it gets super clean, no stains left at all! I think beauty blenders are worth it because they last a very long time and they're not unsanitary at all if you're cleaning it after every use as you should be.
