High end VS low end.

What do you ladies like better?

I personally like high end products a lot more than drugstore because drugstores are overpriced for their quality.

Especially drugstore lipsticks! $9 for a lipstick that doesn't even show well just irritates me.

However, I do like to have a mixture (50% high 50% low)

I just want to see others opinions :)

I find that everything high end I buy lasts so much longer in the long run because you only are using such a small amount and the quality is better so its worth it. On the other hand, sometimes you can find drugstore products that are just as good. Overall I feel that brushes make the biggest difference to how good a product will look and apply..

All I own is drugstore lol. & I really like what I have, especially for the price. I'm sure there are some really good high end products that no drugstore product can compare to, but there are certain products that certain drugstore brands have that are actually really good.

#Caitriona, yeah I think some drugstore is really good! I love NYX lipsticks a lot but I will only wear MAC and NYX lipsticks. And I find it pointless to buy eyeshadows high end when there is great brands like makeup geek and coastal scents hot pots!

@kat I use to swear by drugstores but I decided to branch out a bit and I agree that some drugstore brands are better. Like wet n wild eyeshadows are way better than MAC's shadows!

I would say high end. I do have drugstore products but the majority of mine is high end. I prefer the quality and I'm definitely a sucker for packaging. For example, my favorite eyeshadows are UD and I have yet to find a drugstore eyeshadow that compares.

HOWEVER, there really are great drugstore finds. For me it's like a scavenger hunt, to weed out the good drugstore products from the bad.

And Brittney you hit the nail on the head about lipstick! I was in Target the other day and saw $10 lipsticks and I was like holy $%#! I might as well spend a few more dollars and buy lipstick from sephora!

I probably have more drugstore items because they are more affordable but for eyeshadows and eyeliner I definitely think high end is worth the money because I have tried numerous brands at the drugstore and they don't compare but otherwise I like drugstore

Everything Kat said...and I would be annoyed if I bought a high end product and I didn't like it VS. buying a drugstore product that I don't like...because you would feel like you were wasting money. I have lots of drugstore products I like...and equally as many that I don't like. You just have to find what works for you because there definitely are good products from the drugstore. I tried a wet and wild eyeshadow for the first time yesterday and I was shocked because it was so pigmented. I don't have a high end eyeshadow to compare it to...but it works very well for me.

For me it depends on products.

foundation, primer, eyeshadow, eyebrow products, etc.I will only go high end because I've tried drugstore and it doesn't work for me and if I can afford it I go for it. especially because these products last so long for me
for the rest I go half half. like concealer powder lipstick blush highlight and stuff it just depends
but mascara anf eyeliner I refuse to buy high end anymore. its pointless and I use it so much that it becomes expensive.
it just depends on the product for me. I have to admit I do have a loy of high end as I went through a high end phase last year. now I'm branching out more and I've been using way more drug store products...

All of you have great points!

But I think its best for me to have a mixture you know like I love eyeshadow so I am going to get it from coastal scents because the quality is great and affordable but I would buy my primer and pore fillers high end because the quality is great and little goes a long way. So it definitly depends on the individual.

When it comes to the wasting money part, I never got anything bad because I review products like crazy! Lol plus, I don't try products unless the have sample size (the sample sizes is sometimes all you really need because they last a good amount of time) before I buy anything full sized. Buy I am a major cheapskate! Lol

@jacqueline that was said perfectly! I only use high end if it doesn't have additives and a bunch of stuff in the ingredients that doesn't really help. But there are brands that are cheaper that work just as good but parabens and other things of that sort I usually change my mind about ( I also realize that products with peservatives like parabens break me out so I usually shy away from them)

I usually prefer higher end and have more higher end stuff in my collection. I find drugstore eyeshadows are almost always terrible. Elf is the only drugstore brand that I like the eyeshadows. I always have to buy foundations and concealer high end because I'm so pale no drugstore brand carries any colours light enough for me. I find mascara and eyeliner can be pretty comparable but my favourite mascara and eyeliners are still high end. I also find bronzers and blushes can go either way, but my favourite bronzers are once again high end.. Haha. When it comes to lip products I have amazing ones from both high end brands and low end brands but I have to say low end probably wins this one. The best lipsticks I have are NYC and they're extremely pigmented and stay on for quite a while!

I'm with kat all the way lol that's all I own even with L.A colors all drugstore makeup works fine with me(:

@Megan, I tried NYC one time but I didn't really like it. The color was very pigmented but it was kind of thin and wore off easily. And same is for me when it comes to drugstore concealers. Most of the drugstore concealers have shades that are either way too dark or too light for my skin (specially because I have warm undertones). So I have to reach out to higher end ( which I prefer anyways lol) but I am also keeping NYX concealers in mind.

All I have to say is, since trying high end products, I haven't bought a single low end product since :p I can't even take low end products seriously anymore, lolol. I walk through the isles looking at the cheap eyeshadows & liners & mascaras.. nothing compared to Hourglass, NARS, UD, MUFE, etc. which I dins funny because most high/low end brands are owned by the same company :s.

Brittney M, that sucks that NYC didn't work so well for you =\ that's funny though, cause I totally use NYX concealers myself! xD

Aug 21, 2014

Chante M.

@Megan do you like it? I don't have seriously dark circles but sometimes they are a tad bit dark

@Kyraa If I had the money for all high end I might buy all high end but for some reason I can not pull myself to buy high end eyeshadows lol

I usually have much better luck with high end make up.
I almost always end up giving away my drug store products so I just avoid them completely now.
The only thing I kept was the maybelline age rewond concealer and a jordana mascara.

I use only drugstore products. I can't afford to spend $28 on foundation or $17 for eyeshadow, so I swear by drug store. I have seen a number of Youtubers who work for Sephora but swear by drugstore products. And their makeup looks just as amazing as "makeup snobs" who cringe thinking about drugstores.

I do look agree about drug store lipstick. I love all my high end, especially the return policies. I feel like drugstore is a risk, because you can't return cosmetics. but with sephora and other high end stores if you don't like it you can return it, and get your money back. They last longer, they are Better quality.

I don't think Becca meant anything bad by it, I believe she was referring to people who may look down on those who use only drugstore makeup. But I agree that some things work for people and some simply don't it's all a matter of personal preference and what is in your price range.
