I want to get my nails done for back to school and all my friends usually do acrylic nails and I was think of putting them on for school. I have pretty brittle nails so do you think gel would be better?

I personally prefer gel

If you already have brittle nails do not get acrylics. They are horrible for your nails! I won't get them done after I saw what they did to my friends nails. It just made them super weak and they all broke like right after she got them taken off. They are not good for heathy nails let alone already brittle nails. I'm not sure about gel though.

I know that gel is supposed to be "better" for your nails. I honestly never noticed a difference, except in price! Gel is usually more
expensive. I stick with Acrylic. But give Gel a try, that way you'll know for yourself. :)

Are acrylic nails fake nails?

Sorry if that's a stupid question

Yeah they are fake nails.

There's something called Gel Powder that some salons offer. They feel like acrylics but look like gel. It goes on your real nails and last quite a long time. The cost is in between that of acrylics and gel if not the same as gel.

When I get acrylics they usually paint over them with gel and makes them last longer I had mine for two months and the I broke one</3 lol well that has nothing to do with your question. If you have brittle nails get shellac, it's a different type of gel polish the difference is that shellac is not as thick therefore less damaging but still has the same no chip effect thing going on.
