Nancy, I've had my hair red before! If you dye it just wait three days then wash it! also do a deep conditioner and color stay shampoo and stuff!

Do not go for red, it will make your hair really dry and it's hard to maintain the color. I used to have red hair and I had to retouch it every month. I didn't wash it everyday because it will fade faster, but you could still see the change. And once you don't want it and let it grow out, your hair will look kinda orangey yellow, it's hard to explain lol but getting red hair is a HUGE commitment

@nancy, girl keep your hair black! I don't see many chicas walking around with black hair anymore and I think having naturally black hair is so awesome :) that's why I'm going to dye my hair back to black 😋

I'm a new red head and I'm loving it (:. Yes it fades quicker since the color doesn't hold on as does other colors bc red dye has bigger molecules, but I'm okay with re dyeing it every month and my hair is healthy (:. As long as you use a sulfate free shampoo (coconut oil shampoo or Burts and Bees), and mask it with a deep conditioning mask (coconut oil mask) you'll be fine (:. I can't wait to go brighter lol.

I would say red because my hair does not fade until about 3 months and I love being a red head xx

Blonde? I've always thought blonde looks nice and apparently dying your hair red ruins your hair.

Yes, red hair actually is hard to maintain for dark hair. if you're up for the commitment, then red. I love that shade of blonde, though!

I like the blonde. That dark reddish purple hair looks cheap to me but the blonde is very pretty.

My hair has been red for 2 years now and it is healthier than its ever been. Sure, you have to dye it every month, but with blonde you have to touch up your roots every month so I think the hassle is about the same. You don't have to bleach as much initially to get red as opposed to blonde so I actually think red would be less damaging.

I've been red too and you guys make it seem like it's harder than it is. Maybe it's just me but it's really not a hastle. I love the blonde though lol I'm just saying people make you think so badly about doing red and they'll scare you away from what you want. My hair is very very healthy. But oh well. Do what you want. You can always go blonde for a few years and then go red because it's easier to go red once your blonde but very hard to go blonde once your red (:

If you go blonde, you'll have to bleach your whole head, probably more than once, and then keep up with the roots. If I were you, get a semi permanent dye from the store (the one that says 28 shampoos). It stays in longer than that, and it will not give you roots at all. I've done that 3 times and it fades all together throughout the hair, so no roots :)

The semi permanent dye for if you want to go red :)

Where did you buy tbat dye, Kaitlin? 0: You think a Sally's sells it? An actual Sally's employee told me the next time I re-dye it, to only permanently dye my roots but to semi permanently dye the rest of hair red :3
