Are the ambient lighting powders worth the $$$

Go for it. one of those powders alone is close to that price but the palette is stunning. They chose the perfect shades, one is like a beige that can be used all over, one is more golden that I use over my contour, and one is a gorgeous pinky highlight color. pinky is a terrible word, I know, sounds scary but it doesn't come off pink at all. it is amazing for under eyes.
