Has anybody tried DIY-ing ombre or balayage highlights to themselves?

Hey! Just wanted to know if anybody has tried doing an ombre or balayage highlights to themselves? And if you have was it easy? Do you recommend doing it to yourself? Thanks in advance! :)

I had my mum do it and it was much easier with another person, was thinking of actually thinking of doing it to! Hope this helped :)
