So today I'm going to go get my hair cut for a trim, and I wanted to know what I should ask the hairdresser to do with my bangs. I want to grow them out because when I got side bangs they just looked weird. What should I do?

Maybe tell the hairdresser to cut them more choppy and more across. Somewhat like this

Whoever cut your hair didn't give you side bangs. The best thing to do is take a picture of how exactly you want it cut and tell the stylist that you're trying to grow out your bangs because you didn't like how they were last time. The more you talk to your stylist about what you want then the better the results will be.

They look like outgrown front bangs, if you want the look of side bangs I would ask the hair dresser for those, she would probably cut them according to your face shape.

Keep the bangs and let them grow out , find some hair styles that keeps it out of your face.

That cut was not a side bang at all.

Like Mary P. said ask them to make them more choppy they would look cute like that!

Maybe ask them to angle the bangs more so they blend better with the rest of your hair. If you use the word choppy they might think you want short choppy layers all around.

If you want side bangs, they need to be cut angular, shorter at your forehead, and getting longer toward the rest of your hair.
