Hey y'all, so I have a couple of things to talk about in this thread, all of which relate to my makeup of the day. First of all, let's talk about the products that I've used:

Urban Decay Primer Potion
Anastasia Beverly Hills Amrezy palette, shades Morocco, Glisten and Deep Plum
Per-fekt Lash Perfection Gel
Dior Diorshow Precision Brow Styler

That's it. Now I want to talk about the Amrezy palette. I know everyone is raving, but I'm just not feeling it. I'm taking it with me for this weekend's travels, but we'll see how it performs. First impression using it on my eyes: the colors aren't as pigmented as I would like. There are some lovely shades, but that doesn't mean anything if you have to cake it onto your eyes to get a hint of color to show up. Most disappointing are the matte shades; they felt so nice and smooth but when I went to apply them, it took like 10 passes of my brush before anything actually happened. Deep Plum was the worst of the two mattes, it hardly deserved the term "deep," as it applied so sheer I needed to really work to get some color there. As of right now, I don't recommend purchasing this palette, it's not worth the $29. BUT, I am going to use it for the next two days as well, so maybe it will get better.

Now, I want to talk about the actual reasoning behind my MOTD. My makeup today was inspired by a typical Beautylish look. I was looking through the photo section and I noticed that lately there's almost a "standard" sort of makeup look: winged eyeliner, neutral shadows, and very sharp brows.

Any of you who know anything about me know that this is not a look I would ordinarily go for. It's simply not my style. But, as it's so very popular, I've decided to see how it looks on me. I did it a little differently, but it's still a winged look with neutral shades. Honestly, I hate it. With my eyeshadow like this, I feel distinctly typical, as though I wouldn't stand out in a crowd, and I really do not like feeling that way. I do understand that for some of you it's a very classic, classy look, so maybe I'm simply not into classy looks. That's fine, that could just be me. I like to look kinda crazy, like a color bomb or a disco ball, and I'm cool with that.

Anyway, the point of all this rambling is thatI tried to do a look inspired by you, the women of Beautylish.

As always, I appreciate any questions, comments or suggestions :) have a wonderful day, y'all!

Imo I love it! your eyes are gorgeous and I feel that the colour makes them pop in a subtle way. it not what you wear that makes you stand out, it's how you wear you and I think you look beautiful as always :) I love the story behind it and thanks for the review! I'm going out later and I was thinking about picking up the pallette but now I'm thinking twice! just a question, how would it look if you pooped a bit of gold (more like a foil texture than glitter) on the center of the lid and inner corner? love this though! xx

Thanks, Bonnie. I don't know. I'm really not much of a gold person, I'm pretty much always in some sort of silver or grey, rather than gold. No problem, always happy to honestly review something :)

Girl, you are just too pretty. I love that color shadow on you. I think it really brings each and every color in your eye. Like I'm in love with your eyes...<3<3<3<3<3<3:-D

Funny thing, MaKenzie, my mom just told me how much she hates when I wear orange or red eyeshadows lol but thanks so much :)

Your brows look amazing! I saw your swatches from the palette yesterday and I do agree that the shadows don't look too well. But it does look like you worked with them to make them look good on your eye :) although I don't see any plum? Maybe it's because it's not pigmented, like you said.

Kaitlin, the wing is with plum eyeshadow. It's basically dark brown, nothing plummy about it at all.

Oh okay, I see it now! It's a pretty color, but definitely not plum :/

Yeah, that was my though. And the swatches...just ugh. Not wowed by this palette, and it kind of sucks because this is the first Anastasia item I've ever tried and it's putting me off trying anything else. Deep Plum is the second swatch from the right.

Omg I LOVE LOVE LOVE this look!! It's weird cuz I hate the color orange but I love orange eyeshadows! I've been using the UD single shadow in freelove and also the orange shade from the too faced a la mode eyes collection. And I'm currently saving for the Mac shadows in coppering and hot paprika. And the kat Von d monarch palette just for the color wrath lol another beautiful gold color is amberlights it's such a different type of gold cuz it has some orange to it!

I don't know, I still see Hannah in this look. If it was a typical beautylish look it would be black sharp winged liner and super defined gradient brows with a precise point at the end, cheek highlight, Filtered Foundation lol And some falsies. I looks like Hannah with neutral lids to me. You haven't lost your spunk. I still see it. Doesn't matter what colors are on your kids , bold or neutral.Still beautiful though.

Bummed about the Amrezy palette review though! Awww man. I really wanted it(even though it's sold out everywhere) and I loveeee Amrezy 😍😍😍

Wow that palette looks super disappointing, I had to really look for the plum part of the look. Anyways, I agree with Symone. That orange color look great on you, really brings out your eyes. I like the story behind it, I love that you like to stand out..I'm the complete opposite so I can appreciate your confidence.

Thanks y'all, Symone, I tried! I didn't want to be that uncomfortable since I'm traveling and stuff today, but I see what you mean :)
