I section my hair in two parts and curl 1 inch sections for 15 seconds and let them fall in my hand and I hold the coiled up curl in my hand to let it cool into shape and then spray the curl.

I have thick hair so I split my hair into three sections & take a 1in piece & curl it for 10 sec & let it fall into my hand and cool into shape. Then I also spray mine. I use my Remington pearl curling wand. Before I curl, I prep it with Aussie heat protectant. After each curl I spray it with Paul Mitchell hairspray & afterwards (all hair is curled) I use a frizz tamer to lock all my flyaway down in place.

I pin the curl down (like before it spirals down) with a bobby pin, put hair spray and let it cool down.

Wash your hair a day before you curl it not the day of, curls stay in longer when your hair isn't super clean
Before you curl it hear protectant is a must, I comb my hair after I apply heat protectant so that it gets all my hair. If you comb after you curl it the curls may get frizzy, so I suggest only doing it before. Once you do a curl how it in your hand so that It doesn't drop down for 5-10 seconds. I usually do about 5 curls & add hairspray to them to do it evenly. I would also start curling from the bottom of your hair & work you way on in sections. Good luck :* & post a pic of your finished look:-)

If you have naturally straight hair I'd recommend doing the method M G recommend. Also using a smaller wand will leaver your hair curly through out the day. As the curls start to fall. Heat protectant is a must though. I like tresemmes protectant.
