So for Halloween I'm going to be the little mermaid. I don't have red hair and don't want to dye it for just Halloween.
What accessories should I get?
Also how should I do my makeup?
Pics would be great!!

Also I'm making my own costume and this is the base to it. A maxi skirt and I'm going to the this purple bandeau together. How can I make this better?

Yeah I was going to sinch the bandeau together, but should I try to add a seashell there it the middle or attach two over the boobs? I don't really trust myself cutting the skirt and it still looking right :/ could I add something to it like ruffles or scales? I was also thinking about a seashell headband or I have a little mermaid crown.

I would buy a red wig or like fake hairpaint that washes out to make your hair red.

Thanks you guys! I might buy a wig, but I'm scared of damaging my hair by using a spray on color..I kinda follow what you're saying Sandra. I'll have to look up a tutorial or something lol.

I'm going to try to explain this in a way that makes sense...Basically the idea is to make 'bunting' for your skirt. Buy a piece of sequined fabric that matches the skirt. Cut it into strips. And you know that half circle shape that you make when drawing a cloud? Cut the bottom of all of the strips like that. Then you can layer them over one another to create a scale effect. Fasten them onto the skirt with safety pins. I hope I explained that well enough! It's an easy way to amp it up without damaging your skirt.
If you want to create a tail effect, I would grab a piece of tulle, again in a colour that matches the skirt as closely as possible. Grab two ends together so that it forms a triangle shape, and then pin it about knee-height (maybe just under) on the back of the skirt, making sure that some of it hangs on the floor.

Thank you! I get it, making scales with the sequins! I'll have to try that :)

Very cute.

makeup. makeup. makeup... can do a lot with your face makeup and
something on your arms and shoulders to mimic scales.

I bought some seashell necklaces and a fishnet that I'm spray painting gold and glittery green!

I agree with Sandra, try cinching it about mid calf so the bottom flare is really...mermaid tail-y? Adding tulle would look great too :)
