My brushes don't pick up metallic glittery colors! For example, YDK from the Naked 2 palette! My fingers swatch the colors perfectly fine but when I use my brushes, I get minimum pigmentation. I've tried this with my Real Techniques, Ulta brand, and the brush that comes in the Naked 3 palette! None of them seem to pick up metallic glittery shades!
What brushes should I invest in to avoid this?? Is the problem with my brushes, or do I need to buy the Mac fix+?
Thanks in advance girlies 💕

You can always apply them with your finger. Sometimes you'll get better results doing it this way.

It'll also be less messy (less fall out) because you're packing it on with your finger rather than a brush.

I mean, that wouldn't be a problem but I don't just use one color, you know? I use multiple shadows per look so it's kind of a problem 😕

Oh no I get it. The I just thought you meant metallic lid colors. Do you mean that all of your shadows don't look pigmented?

Most of my shadows are pigmented! But what I'm trying to say is that if I'm trying to make a specific look, and the metallic shades don't show up, it just looks weird!
For example, if I use YDK or Trick in my mid kid, and another color in my outer and inner kid, my mid lid area will be less pigmented and it'll look super weird..
I don't know how to explain lol

Lol pretty much what I'm asking is If I HAD to apply with a brush, what would you recommend? Get a whole new set of brushes or purchase the fix plus?

Cat C.
Yeah so I would just use your finder or a brush with fix +. I often have to use fix + for Trick to show up. I'll use natural hair brushes for better pick up though.

Okay thank you, Cat! :)

Have you tried adding a little water to the shadows? This usually makes them glide on super pigmented. But I still recommend fix plus just because it has so many uses.

If you're looking for a set of cheap brushes, you can try real techniques, E.L.F and ecotools. I use those brushes w/ my Naked palette, and they pick up the eyeshadow w/ no problem.

Okay I'll look into it! Thanks jasmine
