How do you get curls on the top of your head not just at the bottom of your hair- like theses...

Take a curling iron and section off the top and curl it

Is there a specific type of iron to use?

No, a regular curling iron or straightener will work just start the curl at the top of each strand. Closer to your roots.

I feel like maybe my hair is just too thick😁

Adding to what Olivia said, you can make smaller sections to have more curls and bigger sections for a simpler look.

I don't think that has to do with it, I have Huber thick hair and I get it to curl every time. Just take your time and do lots of sections. I found my straightener much easier to curl my hair with vs a curling iron. Have you tried using a straightener?

No... I don't know how to make curls with a straightener.

I'll try my best to explain, you can also look at tutorials for a better understanding. But what I do is take the strand, and put my straightener through it at the top of the strand, then begin to turn the iron in and keep turning till you get to the bottom of the strand. the tighter you turn, the tighter your curls will be. :)

Oh. Sounds easy enough.. And I keep it vertical the whole time?

Yes, its pretty simple and it honestly gives me perfect curls. I hope it works easy for you! :)

My hair is super thick and I can curl any part, all I need is heat protectant and a curling wand lol. Look at YouTube videos, you'll learn.
