Easy natural eye makeup?

I'm not very good at makeup but I want to learn how to make a simple naural eye so any suggestions for pallets and tutorials would be greats.

NYX has some great "natural" eye palettes. I would highly recommend those, or the Lorac pro palettes (1 or 2). For simplicity always remember, work your way from inside with a light color, middle with a medium dark color, and then outside and lower lashline with a darker color.

What to look for in a palette: good color payoff, a mix of matte and shimmer colors, the ability to sample/swatch the product before buying. Instructions or tutorials included with the product are a nice bonus. All of that is easier said than done!

Those great big palettes where you get a ton of stuff can be kind of overwhelming. Sephora's own brand has a decent knock off of the Naked palette. But you know, no black in it, so that didn't really work for me. NYX has some knockoffs as well. You can always watch reviews of them on youtube or read the NYX website reviews which are helpful. I opted instead to do the Inglot freedom palette and just picked shades that I really loved. Yes I only got four shades and the pallete for the price of a medium-priced palette, but the pans are huge, the payoff is amazing and I can't imagine them ever running out.

You can do anywhere from 1-4 shades, I usually use 2-3 for day, and 4 for night. You need a highlight shade close to your skin tone , but brighter with some shimmer to highlight your inner eye, a matte shade slightly darker than your skin to highlight the crease , a darker shade that flatters you and compliments your eye color to contour your outer lid, and liner shade that is close to the shade of your lashes, but darker.

For tutorials check out youtube "no make up makeup" + eyes, Wayne Goss has some good ones. He taught me how to put makeup on so I didn't look like a clown. Love him forever.

Tools: try to get a basic eye tool kit. Eco tools at walgreens has one for under $10 that is decent. Two of the brushes are faves in my collection. If you can spend a bit more, the Kashuk tools at Target are really excellent. I can't live with out a small shadow brush, for highlighting, a medium shadow brush for contouring, a smudge brush (which works as a crease brush for me, since my crease is non existent) a blending brush and a fine angled brush for lining. That's it, really.

Spend some time playing around and don't feel bad if it doesn't work or look as good as it does on the video. It takes loads of practice.

I love the Too Faced Chocolate Bar. it has a great range of neutrals along with some pinks,burgundys and purples and an amazing mix of mattes, shimmers/glitters and sheens. Also Wet and Wild has little 3-8 pan shadow kits that tell you where to place the shadow. My favorite neutral ones from them are 3 pan- Walking on egg shells
8 pan- comfort zone. The one side has greens and blues while the other side has browns.
