I have been using lemon juice once a week or once every two weeks as an acidic exfoliant rather than using some type of scrub, etc. but I feel like lemon juice is harsh and damaging.. Is there anything natural I can use that will be a gentler exfoliant? I have heard of oats..

Lemon is really harsh and bad for your skin maybe you can try an organic apricot scrub?

Lemon is waay harsh. is there a reason you don't want to buy a scrub?

I just want to use something gentle and natural but if you know of any great scrubs I'm open to it!

The scrub I use is more targeted to blackheads, if you're interested in that kind of thing. but in general for just a regular scrub, you'll want to look for one that has beads in it so it's gentle rather than being abrasive like scrubs with shells such as the St Ives apricot scrub, which actually causes micro tears in the skin :)

Adding onto Jacqlyn's suggestion, make sure to spot test first. just because you might not be allergic doesn't mean your skin will agree with it.

Use yoghurt with lemon. It'll make it more moisturising and less harsh

Yogurt because it has natural lactic acid, or you could grind up rice into a fine powder that will microfoliate your skin. Dermalogica's Daily Microfoliant is based off of the "rice powder" exfoliant practice. Another thing you could try is a fruit mask. Pineapple would be good since it has the Vitamin C, enzymes, and antioxidants that would benefit your skin without being super harsh. Citrus is really good too, but if you overdue it with the citrus you can cause some skin irritancy (as with any Vitamin C product/by product). Vitamin C exfoliation is what I recommend, though I use a Vitamin C scrub and not the natural version. Vitamin C is the best brightening agent out there if you want something natural, and it's antioxidant base is great for fending off environmental damage from the sun or other factors. So that being said, I would probably do a fruit mask with oranges, pineapples, or kiwi and you could do as Saarah said and mix it with yogurt. Honey and yogurt masks are amazing! They moisturize and honey is anti-microbial and soothing to the skin if you have any form of inflammation or redness, it will help tremendously. Anyways, hope this helps. Sorry for rambling on haha <3
