Hello 😆 I'm just wondering if it's bad that my nails can't grow past my finger tips. I never liked the long nail look so I've alway cut them as short as possible. Sometimes when I forget to cut my nails, my nails grow probably 3mm and the top layer of the nails start to peel to a point where I have to cut my nails. Is this bad or unusual?

My nails do grow really long but mine also peel and are flimsy I know nails should be hard and smooth so it might do something with vitamins and nutrients but I'm not sure it just happens to me too and when I was younger my mom always told me to eat green veggies

It's normal it's just means your body is missing some vitamins and calcium

It's not necessarily bad but they should be hard. Its not a big deal though since you keep them short, but try to get more calcium :D.

With nails that peel I always recommend that clients keep the nail short and square, making sure you file to.the middle not back.and forth. also use a nail strengthner but make sure its applied to the edge too to seal the nail. this will help prevent water soaking up therefore making more peelage :)

You should check in with your doctor just to make sure you aren't having any issues with deficiencies, anemia, etc. Many things can cause nails to become soft, peel, or break. Always better to be safe and rule out any kind of medical issue (even if you have no other symptoms).

Nails will also peel when exposed to moisture, washing dishes for example. When I worked in food service and had to wash my hands as well as dishes 20-30 times a day, my nails were trashed. Wearing rubber gloves helps.
