I hate repeating myself as I probably sound like a broken record but here goes. LOL. As many of you know I'm in the middle of perimenopause and it royally bites. Skin moody, I'm moody...entire body is moody. I love my mainstream brands of cosmetics (Bobbi Brown is my girl, Dior, Laura Mercier, Maybelline to name a few) but now I'm wanting to explore more vegan/natural lines.

I focused my research on small start-up lines and produced/packaged in the USA. One line that has impressed me thus far and I have yet to order from them is called Gressa Skin. They have a product in particular that I plan on ordering within the next week or two. Minimalist Foundation Serum. The ingredients list is impressive and short considering its a foundation. Coenzyme Q10, vitamin c stood out for me from reading its list. Non-GMO and Certified Organic.

As I mentioned I definitely plan on ordering this potential gem so I can report back and let you know if its a hit for me. My long-term goal is to eventually have part of my makeup collection a mix of vegan and mainstream...a nice 50/50 split is ideal for me.

I'm curious though to know...is there anyone who has had pretty decent results with vegan cosmetics in general? Please feel free to share your thoughts.

Hmmm I'm not sure if these brands are 100% vegan but they claim to be that or organic and I've used products by juice organics and the yes to lines for skin care claim to be like 99% vegan or something to that effect - another one is based out of Oregon called Pacifica and I like their lip products but that's the extent to my personal experience with it - I'm all for them but have realized that they don't really hold up to the high end non-organic/vegan brands you terms of makeup - but in terms of skincare they are pretty great.

Skincare is definitely going to be next but the cosmetics is a new frontier for me. I've tried Tarte and Josie Maran in terms of cosmetics but they are mass produced and sold in just about every Sephora here in the United States so I'm curious about the brands that fly under the radar. Tarte blushes irritate the mess out of my skin and contain a preservative that makes me breakout and don't get me started on their mascara.LOL. I've heard of Pacifica...read up on them last year. Great company philosophy.

I like pacifica's blood orange perfume and some of their tinted balms. I also like mychelle's cleanser for oily skin. I've tried some other skin care products by them but haven't had as much success. You should look on vitacost and iherb. They typically have some nature lines for sale and at a discounted price. Also if you have a whole foods near you they will let you return if you don't like it. Right now I use it cosmetics power foundation and cc cream. I like it a lot but I don't think it's vegan or nature. Good luck on your search!

There is a great certified vegan, gluten free, non-GMO and minimum chemicals skincare line that I love. It's call Re9 Advanced System (anti-aging) made in California called Arbonne. They are not organic, cause they claim that not all organic ingredients are the best option to delivery the results they need. I know they have a full make-up line and many other personal care products. It's worth trying!

Pacifica is wonderful in my opinion. I haven't tried much of their makeup but I have tried their body butters and their cleanser and a moisturizer and all of them are great. The only makeup item I've tried is their eyeliner and it is nice. Very creamy and soft. I'd definitely look into them :)

First brand that come in my mind when I hear vegan s the body shop.. I have just tried their shimmer cubes when it comes to cosmetics and I liked them. Another company that is vegan ( I think so) Chambor. I like their eye pencils and flowing lipstick in particular. One Indian brand that has good products and is vegan is Colorbar. Not sure they are available at your place.. I always prefer vegan cosmetics and good to see other people approaching it positively :)

Thank you for the heads up on Pacifica. Looking forward to playing with that line.

@Isabela...I actually tried Arbonne on my kids...the body and skincare and my youngest son especially had a horrible skin reaction to the baby lotion. And my daughter had some issues with a facial lotion. I definitely plan on checking out their cosmetics line though as I know a rep with the line.
@Parnika...investigating both Chambor and Colorbar. Especially Colorbar...I love things that aren't mainstream here in the States.

Oh and another bit of info on Pacifica in case you weren't aware, they are usually available at Target now. They used to be in Sephora but aren't any longer. They are in Ulta as well :)

I would explore your local co op. I'm always impressed by the makeup selection at a decent size store. Often (at least in my current co op and the previous one in Portland) you're able to swatch and test which is amazing because (at least for me) vegan/organic makeup is very hit or miss. Also Pacifica makes a great highlight palette :) Good luck!

Thank you ladies for sharing. Much appreciated. :) @Maggie...Unfortunately our local co ops have nothing beauty related and the health stores I have checked out didn't have foundations in my skin range...didn't even come close...which is a bummer. But I was able to snag a few mascara's though and lipsticks. We shall see. ;)

Hey parnika, I don't think chambor is vegan. Also colorbar is not vegan. Would request you to check facts of companies before writing any comment. Colorbar says it does not test on animals yet uses beeswax, lanolin. India has lot of vegan skin care, not too much vegan cosmetics. Body shop says it's vegan though uses honey, beeswax. Hope you take my comment in good way coz we should be careful while guiding. Inglot has few vegan options, you can ask them on mail or check ingredients of body shop to buy products without beeswax, honey or shop vegan options from eBay, glad to see your interest in vegan cosmetics though
