Looking for a mascara that will deliver volume and length but won't flake into my eyes screwing with my contacts?

As a fellow contact wearer for 11 years, you should 100% avoid all mascaras that says "fiber" or "false fibers." The fibers are what flake and make your eyes go crazy. My personal favorite mascara is the Per-fekt Lash Perfection Gel, but other good ones are the Sephora Outrageous Volume, Maybelline Lash Stiletto, Lancôme (any of them)...I'd be happy to recommend more if you'd like! Mascaras to avoid: Too Faced Better Than Sex, Younique, Maybelline Illegal Length...mascaras like that :)

I was thinking of buying the Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara, lol. So thanks for pointing that out! I'll definitely watch for the fiber/false fiber ones.

No problem, those are the ones that collectively have been the absolute worst for my contacts, they flake, they get stuck in my eyes, and they hurt like hell. I do like the Too Faced Lashgasm, though =)

Also avoid waterproof formulas if you can. If they end up flaking at all, they'll stick to your contact and contact solution won't break it all down, so if you wear weekly or monthlys (dailys would be fine) it'll be on there with its sticky residue (the pigment will break down so it won't affect your vision) until you replace your contacts. Which could cause tears in them. So if you do prefer waterproof mascaras, make sure you put your contacts in before doing your makeup so that if any of it does fall, it won't be on the direct surface of your eye.

I've never had trouble with any mascaras I have monthlys I sleep in and nothing irritates them :)

Jadee you should never sleep in your contacts unless they are glass. Which I don't think anybody uses anymore. your eyes aren't getting enough oxygen with contacts in them and when you sleep they already don't get the normal amount. It can be very dangerous, your contact can be glued to your eyeball due to dryness from not reviewing oxygen, requiring a dangerous surgery, it can damage the eye by suffocating the cones (which help you see) and when they're gone there's no fixing it. It'll also deteriorate your eyes faster, so one week of sleeping in your contacts will age your eyes at least 8 months. It makes little difference now but when your 50 with the eyes of an 80 year old you'll really regret it, since it could result in eventual blindness due to your cones dying.

And put your contacts in first then make-up. Take your make-up off then take off your contacts. (it was in the handbook lol nerd alert)

I wear contacts daily, & have never had problems with Benefit They're Real, MUFE Smokey Extravagant, & Hourglass Film Noir mascaras.
honestly I've never had this problem in general, but these mascaras are all really great! (:

Correction: you take your contacts off then your make-up, not the their way around...sorry! and never use waterproof mascara as well :)
