How do you keep your nail polish from chipping??

I love doing my nails. Sometimes I will spend hours on doing them so that they can be flawless, but the next day all of my hard work goes down the drain. They all chip off. How do I prevent that from happening??

I start by buffing my nails so the polish has an even surface beneath it. Then I make sure to wash all of the dust and oils off my nails so my nails are clean for the polish. I use a base coat and top coat that are specifically for chipping, and I make sure every coat of polish dries completely before moving on. But all this is in vain if I am not careful with the way I treat my nails afterwards. I always use gloves when Washing dishes, and I am careful with other small things to prevent chipping :) hope this helps!

For me, my Seche Vite topcoat is wonderful for keeping things in tact. I work with my hands all the time and with this stuff I can keep my mani for like a week and a half!
