Best Way to get rid of acne scars?!

So I don't like wearing makeup especially bc I'm always active, but the acne scars still make me a bit insecure.
I've heard good things about a Vitamin C Serum but I want to know which serum is best. Any recommendations? And when should I apply this serum? ^.^

I use Mederma for scars nightly & it has reduced & removed my dark acne scars :)
