Clarisonic or Something Else?

I have a Luna and honestly, it works so much better than my old Clarisonic. I had the Mia and found it annoying to clean and it irritated my skin. The Luna is around $200 and you can use any cleanser as long as it's not an exfoliant. I ordered mine from Sephora and got the one for sensitive skin, since I have rosacea and always get red. If you haven't heard of it, definitely look in to it as you said you won't be purchasing anything for a few months.

The only other device remotely similar and still safe is the Luna. I have tried the Luna and I personally don't like it. It wasn't bad but it left my skin feeling unclean. Now I only tried it like two times (it was aunts and she never used it) but I felt like my Clarisonic kicks butt over the Luna. I actually used my Clarisonic after using the Luna and my brush was dirty with left over makeup that the luna didn't get. Make sure to get the right brush head for your skin type. It took me a while to figure out which was the best for my skin but once I had that I haven't had any issues. I don't like the Clarisonic Cleanser so I use other brands.

Oh and they say to replace the Clarisonic brushes every three months but I actually put them in the dishwasher when they start getting bad and they last longer than the three months. Its also cheaper to get more than one brush when they have the 2 for 1 or discounts sometimes. The Clarisonic will irritate your skin though if you don't use the right brush and if you are pressing too deep because I've had that issue, but when I let it do its own thing and use the right brush its perfect.

And yes! I used whatever I feel like using Avon, Murad, Philosophy, CeraVe, Boscia, etc. it doesn't matter what you use.

The easiest way to tell which brush was the best for me was getting the variety pack (I think there was four different ones) and then picking out of those to decide. I have dry sensitive skin and use the Delicate but for you even though your oily the Sensitive is probably good for you.

Yeah I think its at Sephora. Anyways I totally get what you mean about wasting money because I felt the same way, but I have had mine for two years now and I probably only change the brush heads twice a year if I clean them often enough and take care of them. To me its more than worth it because it has improved my skin so much. Yeah I still break out here and there but I get tons of questions asking what I do for my skin and really the Clarisonic has done it all. I will never not have one now that I have seen how good its been for me.

I tried looking for the variety pack and I can't find them on Ulta or Sephora. 😞 They usually always have them though so I don't know, I bet they'll bring them out for the holidays though or you might find them on ebay or amazon... They do have the twin packs still.

I have the Luna mini. I haven't tried a clairsonic so I couldn't compare which is better but I will tell you what I think of it so far. I have been using it for about 3 months now.

First off, the instructions do say to remove makeup first then to use the luna with your cleanser. ( That may have been why there was some leftover makeup the clairsonic picked up Lisa S. ) Which is good and bad because you still have to pay money for either a cleansing oil or makeup remover wipes. Personally I like using a makeup remover balm in my skincare "ritual" so it's a pro for me.

It's really gentle but it can still cause irritation. First trying it, I got too gung ho with it and pressing too hard. My face definitely didn't like that. Other than that learning curve, no irritation.

Regarding it's benefits... So far I'm not over the moon with it. My skin does feel smoother and I definitely can tell the difference when I skip a few days. My makeup applies a lot more smoothly and no more dry patches. All it really does is exfoliate. It does do better than my hands but I wish I had went ahead and got the clairsonic instead. Before giving up on it, I'm going to get paulas choice bha or aha and see if I get some better results...

Maybe try getting the most senstive, delicate head there is first and work your way up depending on how your skin reacts. I'd hate to buy the variety pack to end up not using the other brushes that didn't work out. I'm pretty cheap though.

Everyone else gave great opinions on everything and I absolutely love my Clarisonic Plus. But I would wait until around Christmas shopping season and order it directly from clarisonic.com because they will have big gift sets that includes the clarisonic its self along with extra brush heads face cleanser caring cases...ect. I ordered mine around Christmas for myself and mine was a limited edition blue Clarisonic Plus that came with a variety pack of face brush heads, a body brush head, a body handle for your clarisonic which is great for your back and legs, a full size bottle of face cleanser, full size body scrub and one other face cleanser, it also all came with a carrying case all for around $200ish. I will admit when I first ordered it I had no idea what I was even going to use the brush head and exfloator for because I was just buying it for the face scrubber part. But I will admit that I live using the body attachment now so much. My skin have never felt so soft and smooth and it makes shaving and fake tanning so much nicer and better looking.

You can look into the pulsaderm, I chose it instead of the clarisonic. I'm really tired so I think you'll get better information from their website than me right now haha. But I do want to add that I comparison watched videos of both the clarisonic and pulsaderm being used in a bowl of water and that really helped my decision.
