So my legs are very dry and the skin is really rough. Lotion does the job for an hour or so but then they are dry again. I also have many scars on my legs from bruises, falling on concrete etc. Any ideas for that? One more, I have very longs legs and dark hair. And my razor isn't shaving my legs very well. Are there any razors you suggest? Thanks!

For the dryness use oil, like coconut oil, I'm not sure about the rest :)

You could try exfoliating to get the rough dead skin off :)

For both the shaving and dry skin, I would suggest Nair cream. It keeps legs smooth for much longer than shaving. It also helps get rid of all the dead rough skin on the surface because the chemicals in it that break apart the proteins in your hair also work on your skin, which means the rough outer layer is sloughed off much more easily

Mederma scar gel is pretty good for scars as well.

I always, always, always, ALWAYS use a sugar scrub before I shave my legs. I used to be so self-conscious of wearing shorts and would just opt for jeans because my legs would get so bumpy and you could see the hair the next day after I shaved until I learned this trick: soak in a warm bath for about 10 mins or shower (warm NOT hot water), scrub the area that you desire to shave with sugar scrub, apply shaving cream (I use Satin Care for Sensitive Skin), use a 3-4 blade razor (My fave is the Venus Embrace) and rinse the blade off frequently, and then rinse with warm water and I like to go over the areas again once I've rinsed them off completely just to ensure that I got everything. If I have time after my shower I will use lotion. Generally a non-scented one with Shea or Cocoa Butter. I prefer using Lush's Charity Pot (I have the original one though, not sure how their new one is now =/). Most of the time though, I skip lotion because every once in a while it will STILL irritate my legs after a shave. But I would definitely recommend using a sugar scrub to exfoliate the dry/flaky dead skin off to get a more smooth shave, and also this will allow your skin to absorb moisture better. A great scrub is any of the Shea Sugar ones from Tree Hut. They are generally about $6-$8 USD and can be found and almost any drugstore, Wal*Mart or Ulta.

Ceravé makes a moisturizing cream that comes in big container, not the pump bottle. I have severe psoriasis and my legs are the worst of it and ceravé lotion works the best and it's not greasy. I used baby oil, Vaseline and have tried every lotion under the sun and ceravé is hands down the best so far. It has no fragrance either...products with heavy fragrance in it tend to dry me out even more.

I have horrible legs, I have eczema and lots of scars and red bumps from shaving. I like to soak in a warm bath with pure sea salt to help sooth and heal my legs. For a razor I use men's Gilette Fusion which is amazing. I also use a shaving cream such as Aveeno shaving cream or this natural aloe shaving cream. Try shaving with the grain of the hair to cause less irritation. I also try showing in cool/cold water to help with less irritation. After my shower I make sure my legs are still damp and I put on Polysporin eczema cream. I also make my own homemade cream out of coconut oil, shea butter, olive oil, tea tree oil, and lavender oil. This helps locks in moisture, heal scars and sooth the legs. I hope this helped.
