Are you supposed to give your head a little break from tape in extensions every so often? I've had mine in since August.

I'm not entirely sure if they will need a break, but I do know that they at least need to be re-taped closer to your roots again. Hair grows, and with it your extensions get further from your head, which is why you need to redo them every so often to keep them looking nice.

Yes you definitely need a break just so you can take care of your own hair.

YESS because your hair grows and also there's a lot of strain on your hair so a couple of days without extensions would be good

Sorry, I didn't clarify. I do the retape/touch ups every 5 weeks as well. But I've been wearing them and getting them touched up since August. I was just wondering if you were supposed to take a break at some point. I noticed I had a lot of breakage, but this was due to my stylist choosing to use so little of the removal and instead just trying to pull the tape out of my hair and brush it out. I would literally see her just comb out big knots of hair that wasn't necessary if she just used to remover correctly.
