Okay so my lips recently have been SUPER dry to the fact my lips crack when I smile! I decided to go to the pharmacy and buy Carmex because you guys are raving about it. When I tried it on it had the most horrible smell but I kept it on thinking it would work. When I woke up in the morning I found my lips have gotten worse! They are all peeling and the cracks are deeper!
Does anyone have a good lip balm that can help
As far as drug store lip balms go I really like Burt's bees, winter always makes my lips dry. If your willing to reach for something a little more expensive sugar lip scrub and lip balms are like miracle workers for me ... The lip scrub is great to use in the morning to remove dry or peeling skin on your lips. And the balms keep my lips moisturized much longer then regular lip balms. Hope this helped :) p.s anything with a minty sent or flavour will dry out your lips just a trick I learned in beauty school.
Use blistex medicated lip ointment. The balm is ok but the ointment is better. It will sting when you put it on and it is white so it looks wired but seriously it is a MIRACLE for healing chapped lips.
My lips are super sensitive and for the most part most chapsticks just make them worse (or just sit on top of my lips!) but I have found three holy grail lip products! Weleda Everon Balm is absolutely AMAZING, Suki lip repair, and the Guava Korres Lip Butter are all my saving graces. A great runner up is the Rosebud Salve by a company called Smiths I think...you can find that one at bath and body works or most other stores!
I have the Korea lip butter in pomegranate and I like it because it gives a glossy finish and a tint but it doesn't do anything for my cracked lips.So Ill check out your other suggestions :)
Juliana, I am on accutane and one of the side effects is extremely dry, chapped, cracking lips. The dermatologist recommended I get "Dr Dan's Cortibalm" which can be found online (just google it, I think it has its own site). It has hydrocortisone which heals the swelling and cracking of the lips. I highly recommend it!!
I LOVE EOS and soft lips they moisturize yourips very well I get dry lipid in the winter and ive found that these work the best + you can Gerry them in many different flavors
Philosophy Kiss Me Tonight lip therapy. It's my favorite thing ever. It's about the same price as fresh's sugar balms but it lasts longer. I love the fresh balms too and they do wonders for me, but for $20 they don't last as long as they should. You can get the Philosophy one from their site, sadly Sephora doesn't carry it. But I think its worth every penny :) since I started using it I haven't had super cracked, dry lips. I've had dry lips but that's my fault for not keeping up with my daytime lip balm as much as I should.
My lips are SOOOO dry. All year round. The blistex moisture melt lip balm is a really good day lip balm, but overnight my lips crack and get really chapped. I haven't found a lip balm to heal my lips yet either!! Sorry, help!!
I agree with Rikki, I would stay away from EOS. They are very dry, waxy balms and I think they would only make your situation worse. Jack Black also has nice lip balms too, Rikki's post reminded me of them. I haven't tried it but there is also an overnight balm from C.O. Bigelow at bath & body works that may help you as well
Juliana- I did purchase Cortibalm from my dermatologist and I can honestly say it has been the only product to cure my irritated and chapped lips (I tired Burt's, Vaseline, aquaphor, Eos)
I like baby lips and revlon lip butters for day time and the revlon butters give color as well and moisturize well, for night time I like to use eos in mint or Burt's bees the original kind. Hope this helped 😊

Thanks Rebecca! I'll be trying that out! Michelle I've never had a reaction to petroleum products till this day so I don't think it's that.

Carmex did the same for me, so hopefully one of the ones I suggested will help :)

Lip balms can be tricky.
Jack Black and FRESH are the only two that have helped me.
EOS is as dry as the Sahara Desert.
