So I have red hair and I want to go platinum blonde, red is a hard colour to get out and I want most of the red out before I start bleach to get the platinum colour. my real hair is a dirty blonde so I know if I got most of the red out I would still have to bleach it anyways but It would take a lot less bleaching if the red was gone. So what I'm asking is if anyone has and tips or home remedies that would fade or remove most of the dye?? I've heard dawn dish soap fades dye I've also herd vitamin c with shampoo left on your hair for an hour helps get rid of some dry so any little tips like that would help ( my hair is really damaged so I'm trying to say as natural as possible with removing most of the dye so when it comes time to bleach to get the platinum colour I don't get nearly as much damage as I would if I were to just bleach several times to remove the dye) thanks for reading my long rant:)

I had this same problem and let me tell you...after two boxes of bleach and a blonde dye box all I had was orange hair and regret...

The red looks like it was a permanent dye, am I right? If so, no amount of waiting is going to make it any easier to lift the colour, it'll fade, sure; but it's still permanent dye that will be harder to remove then if it were a veggie dye like manic panic for example. What I would do is wash your hair more frequently and wait until the colour is more orange in colour, after that you should be able to start with the bleaching but it will still take at least a couple of bleaches to get to a yellow enough colour to go platinum.

If your hair is as damaged as you say, going platinum is going to cause serious breakage and drying. I'd get a good cut and deep condition, while kicking up my Omegas, Vitamin C and B12. I'd also invest in the Pravana Nevo Restorative line and a Wet Brush.
