I dyed my cousins hair using the loreal hi color highlights in red hot and we died it twice and this is how it came out. I know the roots take better because its virgin hair but how do I get her whole head that color.

I had to dye mine four time for all of it to become one color.. I recommend doing once more at the bottom. And following with a red hair shampoo and conditioner line, I use John Friedas. Make sure it's specifically for red hair.

You have to do it again.but DO NOT ADD COLOR TO THE ROOTS ANYMORE! just to the parts that aren't as bright and leave it on for longer. that's what I did when the roots were brighter

You were supposed to do all the hair that wasn't virgin hair and leave it for 45 mins and then the roots and leave it all on for 20 more minutes and it would've came out more even.

But you'll have to redo the non-virgin hair again regardless, but you weren't supposed to saturate aall the hair together right away.

Sometimes professional isn't an option for some people. I agree with Renay.

Maybe adding more dye and focusing the dye more on the bottom or just letting it fade and start over.

That's why Helen said if you can go to a salon do that ^ but yes if I'm not mistaken is that the color line that takes dark hair to red without processing or lifting it? To get an even tonal color you should have applied it to the nonvirgin hair first, then with the last 15-20 minutes of processing time added the color to the roots. When applying color you want start at the mid shaft and work your way down to the ends leaving the roots to be touched last. To get a more even look you must color it again but DON't touch her regrowth area at all!

There probably just wasn't enough dye used. I know when I dyed my hair red I had to keep re-dying because the color washes out, especially red, VERY easily. Beautiful color, sucks to maintain

Would adding protein filler help too?
