I've used Proactive skin care products for awhile and I haven't seen much results. I know you have to use it constantly at least once every day, but when I use everything it just feels like its sucks the moisture right out of my face. It causes my skin to also flake. I've stopped using because of these problems. I was just wondering if you used proactive before has it done this to you and if so what's another good skincare product? Thanks in advance everyone  :)

Proactive didn't work for me, it burnt my face and it was really red and flakey with no improvement in my acne at all. So its not just you who had problems with it :)

Proactive Sucks :( Makes skin DRY :( I don't use any skin care products I have sensitive skin, I just use regular dove soap and it keeps my face fresh and clean... :)

I've used proacttiv it worked in highschool 10 years ago lol but when I recently tried it this year I had no improvement...I'm currently usint peter thomas roth glycolic wash which I feel its working hopefully its not a placebo lol

And the only reason I bought the Proactiv kit was because my cousin had really bad ache and their face cleared up but it just caused me problems lol.

I use proactive, the new proactive plus version and I feel like it keeps my skin smooth and blemish free. In my case when I first started using it my skin was dry, red and irritated as well and so I started using it only once a day (at night) and I stopped using steps 2 and 3- the toner was very drying and the moisturizer did not moisturize at all. I use other products for these two steps and feel it works much better like that. But that's just my opinion!

Hated proactiv. From what I can tell the dryness is from the Benzoyl Peroxide. It burnt the crap out of my skin and it took about 2 months before my skin was back to normal. I also think something like that shouldn't even be on the market. It's absolute crap and you can find so many better things then that in my opinion at local chemists.

My friend had a really bad reaction to it...She broke out in hives and a rash. I think it's one of those products where it either works great or it ruins your skin. Unfortunately you don't know till you try :/ hope you find something better!

I've actually had a completely different experience with Proactiv. It really cleared up my acne and my skin was still soft and not dry.

Kate family memebers of mines use it and they had great results and clearer skin. I guess another factor that plays into this is that I have REALLY sensitive skin and I can't even use certain soaps and products on my face. But I thought it would work for me just because they said it would work for sensitive skin.

I had a good experience with proactiv (the old formula) when I was a teenager - it really cleared up my face fast - but as I aged my skin changed and after I hit about 18 it stopped working for me - it's probably made to target a specific skin type and if you don't fit into that box then it may not work for you - so I'm sure for some people it works great but it's not for everyone.

If you don't struggle with acne, I suggest to just go out and get your own products. I've used proactive before.. But it just dried out my face. So instead I now use an non alcohol toner, neutrogena has one, and a everyday lotion. Neutrogena has a day lotion for combination/oily skin or dry skin. I love these neutrogena products. Also, I use purpose face wash. My dermatologist recommended it. It's really gentle and really moisturizing. Plus buying products separately will be a lot cheaper for you and will probably last you longer 😊

I absolutely love the new proactiv it has been one of the only things to clear up my stubborn acne on my face since going to a dermatologist. I was prescribed retin-a and I was allergic to it and it finally went away after a using proactiv.
