I buy and use the wedge sponges from Walmart. It's the equate Walmart brand. I normally don't get it wet and I have decent skin. I use the covergirl 3 in 1. I feel like my skin looks flawless.

Lol. well you're in luck because sponges actually do not provide the fullest coverage, they actually sheer the coverage out a bit. you need to work in layers to ensure a non-cakey full coverage look. a flat foundation brush with give you the most foundation as you are laying it and patting it onto the skin rather than buffing it into the skin (which sheers it out a bit because it is mean to look somewhat close to the skin; unless you layer which will give you the porcelain look if done correctly)

The most coverage *, not foundation

And layer in thin layers, just build up to your liking, as you don't want it to cake up.

Well, it's like "painting" your face, with flat foundation brushes you get the product on the brush and you start in the middle of your face and work outwards in downward strokes. does that make sense haha?

Not like, flat top, not a Kabuki type brush.

A stippling brush will add additional coverage since it's not actually meant for foundation application, but for adding coverage. I also find color correcting helps achieve a more flawless look.

Lol I know I only use them a few times and I wash it every time I use it but ya.

Here's what I've learned from doing makeup freelance. I have and work with pretty full coverage foundations because I can always sheer them out by either mixing moisturizer with them abbot will turn it into a bb cream consistency. because they're full coverage foundations I can sheer it out and work my way to full coverage and use less product than if I was to use a light coverage foundation and try to build the coverage... you get me? Lol.

to apply foundation I use a flat foundation brush and just brush it on the area I'm going to be working on and blend with a damp latex-free sponge and blend it in dabbing motions. I never rub the foundation on the face. I apply it like this all over the face. this technique works when you want to have a natural look. when I want full coverage I grab a stippling brush and apply the foundation all over the face and blend it by dabbing the product the same way just not moving the foundation as much.

you can also use powder foundation but that will also cake it if you use it wrong. I like setting all foundations with a colorless powder because it doesn't change the look and color of the foundation. it just details it. I finish it off with a setting spray. and I'm done.
