Exfoliate when brushing your teeth helps. Use your tooth brush after brushing your teeth, just massage your lips, about 30 secs each and then apply a chap stick. I use burts bees in peppermint.

Shanae your idea is the same one I follow. I love how it makes my lips feel. I do it daily especially since it's so cold out now. As far as lip balm goes I love the Smith rosebud salve and Kiehl's lip products.

I think Burt's bees dries out your lips because of the peppermint oil. My husband switched to a beeswax chapstick with no added peppermint and his lips have been so much better. I think exfoliating is fine unless your lips are really in bad shape (like cracked and bleeding bad) in which case rubbing sugar on there is going to hurt like the dickens. Aquaphor lip repair has worked for me in the past. I usually use coconut oil as a daily lip moisturizer so I don't get to the point where I need repairs anymore.
