Yesterday I got my hair cut and colred. I had 3 different sets of foils done for sure and I think they did like full color? Its quite a few shades lighter. I went from dark brown ti dark blonde with a bunch of high and low lights in it. This was the first time I gave ever dyed my hair so I was wondering if your hair/scalp was supposed to hurt!? My scalp is really tender and sore and when ever I move my hair around like to brush it or throw it up it hurts to move it. Is this normal? Why is this? I'm just a but worried since this was the first time dying and bleaching my hair.

I've dyed my hair myself/professionally and my scalp has never hurt. I'm not sure what it could be? Maybe you were allergic to the dyes and bleach. Don't take my word though cuz again I'm not sure! Try calling the salon where you got your done and tell them about it?. Sorry I couldn't be more help!

The scalp often hurts or irritates if the skin is over sensitive, I take dyes like every other month n initially my skin was extremely sensitive so it used to irritate like hell but with time I think it got prone to this damage I had been doing...
P.s I have used every brand that's available in my nearby market n the results are more or less the same...

I know mine gets a little irritated if the stylist is a little to rough with the foil comb, it could be that but it also could be a reaction to the chemicals

Well it was only yesterday,
I would be more concerned after a couple of days and it feels the same

It could be chemical burn from the bleach. I don't believe scalp pain after having your hair done is normal.

If your scalp is sensitive then it's normal. If there's a knot in your hair while you're brushing, does your scalp hurt at all? If it does then you just have a sensitive scalp.
This is also the first time you've dyed your hair, so your skin hasn't been exposed to those chemicals before. Bleaching is hard on the scalp, if your stylist got a bit too much on your scalp you could have a chemical burn. If that's the case, I know it's gross but put a burn cream like polysporin or webber cream where it hurts on your scalp. It'll make it stop hurting and heal a lot quicker.

Thank you Alyx! I think I do have a sensitive scalp then and since it was the first time dying it. I know in one place on my head it is for sure burnt from the chemicals so ill try and put a burn cream on it.

No problem! I have an extremely sensitive scalp, every time I get my roots done I get multiple chemical burns, even with using the least harsh bleach and barely letting it touch my scalp. Unfortunately it doesn't always stop, but telling your stylist next time that your scalp is sensitive and that you had some sensitivity and burning last time. They might be a bit gentler :)

I agree with Alyx :) I only ever have this problem when I've bleached my roots (when I was blonde) because my scalp is on the more sensitive side, it'll take about a week for it to heal, keep in mind though it will flake like dandruff when it's healing haha.
