Hello beauties! I'm looking for an eyeshadow brush set for Christmas! The brushes I have now work but they're kind of like beginners brushes. I'm looking for a set with a crease brush and a brush that I can use on the middle of my lid that will really pack on pigment. Beyond those two I would really love some advice and any suggestions that you ladies have to offer, thanks! 😘

I would recommend the Real Techniques eyeshadow brush set. They're really nice and affordable too! (I think it's $18 at Ulta)

Depends on how big your eye is but I'd say the essential brushes for eyes are:

medium shader (I use kashuuk tools medium shader, bdellium has a nice looking med. shader for a few bucks less), sweeping color on the whole lid, packing color into the v or contouring the outer eye.

smudger-detail brush (I'm using Kashuuk tools detail/smudger, but Makeup Academy at CVS has one that you can get for $4-5 with a coupon) this brush is great for packing on color in the inner corner, for sweeping color under the eye and for smoking out eyeliner.

Tapered Blending brush: I'm using Kashuk tools tapered blender (discontinued, but the cheaper core tools line brush looks OK), bdellium, and sigma have these brushes as well, indespensible for blending the contouring shade to the rest of the lid and for blending out the crease. I notice MUA at CVS have a PrO crease brush that is a tapered blender.

Liner brush: flat push, angle liner or pointed liner (either straight or bent), everyone has a favorite. Starting out I favored a small angle liner, now I favor a very small push brush. The nice thing about liner brushes is that they aren't super pricey. You can get good ones at bdellium for under $7!

Pencil brush: similar in usage to the smudger detail, but a long thin, round barrel brush. I am using an eco tools one that I like OK, but have my eye on bdellium's maestro pencil which has a much more precise shape to it. This brush has rescued me more times than I care to say transforming hacky un-even lining to smoked beauty in seconds. I figured out that if I hold it upside down and do a gentle windshield wiper motion on the lash line it will help work shadow downward (I don't know about you but I often get a gap between my liner and lash line).

crease brush: I tried every brush I owned to get my crease right. It wasn't until I figured out that I needed a very subtle color to create a crease, that I figured it out. Now I use a domed shadow brush to lay down color in the crease, which is the right shape for my eye. Most people will need a longer more flexible crease brush.

Not quite essential but nice to own:

angled crease or contour brush. For my eye shape (hooded eyes with droopy lids), I need to contour the outer corner like mad. This brush lays down the shadow in a perfect shape. I started out with an eco tools brush, but the bristles were really far apart with an overall footprint too big for my little face. I'm loving the Kashuk tools angled crease brush for this.

I'm not a big fan of buying sets because I don't think you really get the brushes you need or use most that way. I also like buying brushes in a store versus online because I think you get a chance to see and touch them, it's really helpful.

The real techniques eye brushes are lovely, but my go-to eye brushes are all from Ecotools. They do a few sets, and some individual brushes, too, but the bristles are super soft and pick up a lot of pigment. They blend really well, and they wash well, too, I don't have any issues with them retaining their shape. For a budget option, they're really lovely, I'd definitely check them out :)
