I think you should go for it :) but like emily said, your roots will be noticable when they come in and it will fade so you just have to be willing to keep up with the maintenance :) but I think it would look great!

Red is the most stubborn color in my experience. it lasts the longest. two years later, a red shade is still in my hair -_- but red does fade brassy but I'm sure you can prevent it from doing that somehow. I think you should go for it.

Well, the fading depends on many factors
•Washing it more will fade out the color
•Buy a shampoo made for keeping in color
•Go a darker shade of a violet purple so there is less maintenance
•Buy a quality dye
:) Many girls have done it and love it. You'll have a little work to keep it up but if you love it, go for it! Plus a dark shade shouldn't turn to orange, though I haven't dyed my hair that color.

Yeah I think you could pull it off! And yes permanent dye is your best bet to avoid too much fading!

It will work fine as long as you bleach the crap out of it before hand. I had blue purple and red hair (at different times) and I have Asian black hair and it worked well for me.

Ohhh your color hair is so pretty now! I wish you would just leave it, I think it's more sophisticated as is. However, that's kind of me throwing stones from a glass house. I know the itch to change colors.
Also, it will look very pretty on you. (The red violet)
