I've had my belly button pierced twice and both times I didn't give it a proper amount of time to heal. I used to have dance class 15 hours a week and there was a lot of movement in that area therefore it eventually rejected. I'm out of dance now and wanted to get my belly button repierced but wasn't sure if it's a good idea considering it already rejected twice. What's the best way to take care of it/prevent it from rejecting? Also how long should I wait before doing various types of exercises such as jogging and specific abdominal exercises?

I'm not sure if getting it repierced it will reject, I'd definitely ask your piercer since it would depend on the amount of scar tissue there. But there's a lot of different places you can pierce on your belly button. My cousin has 3 piercings on hers.

If you do, wait at least 4-6 weeks (depending on how it's healing) before heavy moving, but if you know you're going to have to move a lot, use a strip of medical tape to tape it down. That way it doesn't move and doesn't put any extra stress on it. It's what sports players do to make sure they don't fall out and become a hazard or get ripped out by other players. But it'll help it not move or wiggle around and it'll make the chances of it rejecting due to stress a little less likely.

Oh and definitely clean it 3 times a day. With sea salt water/saline. There's proper recipes online but I believe it's 2 tablespoons of sea salt per liter of water. You can take a shot glass of it, put it on the table and lean your piercing into it for a few minutes. Or put it in a light mist spray bottle (not a heavy spray one) and soak the area. Then take a qtip soaked in the sea salt water and get the places that may not have gotten soaked, like right at the skin of the piercing or behind the bar.

H2Ocean spray. It's a salt water spray and I recommend it to all of my clients. Basically honey , it depends. I had mine pierced and I messed with it etc. If you see it getting red , in the shower wash it good with a fragrance free soap and water. Hrdrogen peroxide kill the bacteria but will dry it out a little. It will not hurt though. No alcohol. Lemme know if you want more info, I'll post it for you.

Out of all my piercings the navel was the most annoying. If you decide to get ahead with it be sure to stay on top of the cleanings and as another beauty mentioned...definitely go in and get a second opinion from the place you went in the last time and get an honest opinion. Myself personally if my body rejected it twice I wouldn't risk going in for a third. The area has faced so much trauma thus far with two failed piercings I just couldn't go thru it again. The scars can be wicked.
