Why Does Makeup Foundation/Makeup Look So Cakey And Gross?

So I've never had this happen...
I wear a full face of foundation to school with a lot a bronzer. I use a setting spray & a primer too. I've been in school for 3 days and before I leave school & after I leave school my face makeup looks fine. But when I'm at school it looks so cakey, powdery, and gross. I don't understand. Is it the lighting? My makeup seems to look fine anywhere else, but at school it looks terrible. I use Revlon Colorstay foundation, NYC sunny bronzer, and Benefit Hoola bronzer. Last I year I used a high ene foundation (MUFE HD). Is going from high end to drugstore made my expectations too high? I'm just so confused. Thoughts/suggestions?

Maybe your skin is the problem. Make sure you cleanse, exfoliate, and moisturize. When putting on foundation make sure you're not putting on too much as that can make you look cakey. When you use powder products don't put too much on just lightly sweep it onto your skin because powder is usually the biggest cause of cakey makeup...

There could be many problems
• too much product
• not blended well enough
• not letting products set into skin before layering
• wrong foundation for your skintype
• not exfoliating/moisturizing well enough
• not using a primer

Natural light don't lie. Do your makeup in natural lighting, it'll help you see what your makeup REALLY looks like.

Make sure you exfoliate your skin. my makeup looked SO cakey in certain lighting before I started exfoliating.
