How can I get my hands on a sample of the Double Wear by Estee Lauder? I've heard soo many good reviews about it, and have been craving it for weeks, but the money just isn't there right now. I'm always soo scared to ask for samples at the makeup counter, so has anybody got any tips? Thanks In Advance :-)

What should I say though? Just ask upfront??

Just be like "I'm interested in the Double Wear foundation by Estée Lauder, may I have a sample?" I'm sure they will give it to you.

When you ask tell them you want to see how it looks in natural light and how it wears throughout the day.

Whenever I ask for samples, I always just say "I've been interested in ____, but I've got sensitive skin and want to see if it breaks me out before buying. can I have a sample?" Which I do have sensitive skin and a lot of things break me out, but they understand and will give you a sample. Or I just say "I've heard good things about ____, before I spend the money on it I want to see if I like it, can I have a sample?" I've never had anybody say no before.

I actually just went up the counter and received a 10 day sample... I went up and said that I read many reviews on this foundation and hoping it's what I'm looking for... Told them I want a matte finish, I have oily skin, and don't want it to oxidize like the Mac studio fix did to me, and that I am on the verge of buying MUFE mat velvet... So she sent me away with a 10 day trial of the double wear maximum coverage (went to macys and they sent me away with the other double wear and it wasn't enough coverage) now there's only a few shades to chose from... And the one she chose matched well, a little goes a long way and the coverage was great... But a few hrs later I got shiny and slick! No bueno!! I even used it with a sample of mattifying primer first and it did the same...

I work at the Lancome counter and I know everyone is always so kind and happy when we can give out samplings. the.

If you have a Nordstroms go there. They have a very pro-sample policy. Except for the Estée Lauder woman at my local one. She was stank twice to me about samples. I complained to a manager about her.

I have made many mistakes buying foundations after the first try in store. I always ask for a sample that will last for a few days, I usually get enough to last a week, I have never had any problems at all. I think it takes more than one go to decide if the foundation is right for you, the right texture, colour, looks good in daylight, night time. They need to keep their product sales moving so they should only be too happy to give you samples, especially with something like a foundation.

Just ask for a sample because you're not entirely sure it will work for your skin and you feel wasteful returning products.

My sister is an Estée Lauder make up artist here in the UK and they always give samples. They can match you for shade if you don't know what you are but if you do they should give you a 10 day sample and any advice you might need. Sometimes they seem scary but get talking to them and they should be nice if they care about their brand :)
