The past year or so I've dyed my hair a lot. I had a lot of highlights then tried going back to my natural brown and then tried out a redish purple colour. my hair seems so damaged now. I have oily hair which I need to wash everyday. I quickly straighten my hair everyday but it's starting to look so dry and there's a lot of flyaways. my problem is that I have extremely sensitive skin so a lot of products make me break out. I currently use Aveeno shampoo and nothing else. could I use a natural oil or something else in my hair to make it look healty again?

You could try coconut oil treatments? Just leave it in your hair for as long as you'd like and wash it out :)

Definitely recommend coconut oil. as a hot oil treatment or just to put on the lower half of your hair after you shower :) do you not condition your hair? I also recommend doing a mayo hair mask.

I always use argon oil... But you need to use a conditioner to moisturize your hair at least a little bit if your going to wash it every day. Plus straightening your hair can really create flyaways...try using a heat protector. Also try using a hair mask once a week to keep your hair hydrated. Oily or not.

Does a coconut oil mask leave your hair really oily afterwards?

and as of right not I don't use a conditioner I can't find one that won't make me break out :(

Thank you I will have to try it! I have both coconut and argan oil. I also just bought this shea butter dry oil from the body shop. has anyone had experience with using a dry oil in your hair?

Also if your worried about your hair becoming more oily if you use conditioner it won't if you don't apply it to your roots. apply it from about mid shaft down consenting on the ends.

How does conditioner break you out? Like your face or your scalp? Try shampooing and conditioning first and then washing your face afterwards because a lot of people have this issue because of the stuff in hair care products. I had the same damage issue with my hair and I love Its a 10 Plus Keratin, its expensive but it has really improved my hair and helps slow down damage to the hair.

I also love the Its a 10 mask too...(:

Try the macadamia line. They look like this. It's helped me so much, I don't use it all the time since it's a bit hard to find but I do love it. It makes my hair so miniatured and it just makes my hair feel so much nicer. It's also the only shampoo/conditioner that doesn't break me out.

But I agree with the oils, I like coconut and argon oil best. And Lisa is right, if you shampoo, condition but don't rinse, shave or whatever, rinse, then wash your face and body it'll be less likely to break you out.

I also clip my hair up once conditioner is in it so it doesn't touch my skin. Then I shave or just wait a few minutes and rinse.

I always use a oil on my hair (ONLY the ends) after a shower when my hairs still damp and let it air dry or blow dry it (with added heat protectant of course) since you have a sensitive head, I recommend "One am Only argon oil treatment spray" it's a heat protectant. anyways the oil doesn't leave it oily, just smooth, shiny, and smelling good! lol. I like the Agave oil treatment

@Lisa I get a huge red itchy rash all over my chest that will stay for a good week. it's not really something I can just wash off and it goes away. I have bad contact dermatitis but I have no idea what causes it.

thank you so much ladies!!

Oh no thats horrible!! I have never heard of that... Maybe just try the Its a 10 Plus Keratin Leave in Conditioner, like I said earlier it has really improved my damaged hair. I'm not big on coconut oil because even when I left it in my hair it didn't really do much compared to other treatments I have tried; I really like Argon Oils... Also did you use box dyes to color your hair? Because I had this issue and once I went to the salon and got it recolored it made my hair not so damaged. Box dyes aren't horrible and I do use them on and off but they aren't the same as what they use at salons...

I will have to check that out. no I don't use box dyes I would get it done at a salon. I think the highlights destroyed my hair because I had to get it done so frequently because my hair grows extremely fast. it's really only near the ends of my hair that look really dry I think ill give oils a try :)
