So I've struggled with this three times before. I have utterly no clue how to curl my hair using a regular clip curling iron, so I used socks for my curls. However they were gone within the hour of taking the socks out. My natural hair is very thick, and very curly, and I have to straighten it and THEN curl it to get the regular curls that you see everywhere. I have tried a crap ton of hairspray but I was wondering if any of you ladies have other options or suggestions? I don't curl my hair enough to but a curling iron (I have done of all of three times 😂 with a friends clip less curling iron) so that's out of the question, however do you ladies know of any techniques as well? I'll insert a picture from around a year and a half , near two years ago ,of my sock curled hair. My hair is due for a length check again and I want to keep my hair straightened for less than two days this time! I know it's gotten significantly longer (hip bone length when curls are wet!) and honestly...ANYTHING IS GREATLY APPRECIATED! Thank you so much!

Okay oopadaisy! That came out very jumbled! My question is how to make curls stay in my hair, what techniques can I use, and if you have any suggestions for products and such! Thanks a ton! ❤️

So do you have a curling iron with a Clip? Because if you do you can take off the clip and then use it as a curling wand

I have curly hair as well, and whenever I straighten it I can't stand it and want curls.. the best way to get them to stay is after straightening your hair, dampen it a bit with leave in spray and put them in the curls. This way your hair sets curled instead of straight.

Thank you all for the suggestions!
!@Harlyn,
I need to find some pillow rollers, and I will definitely have to try dampening my hair! I feel a little dense for not considering it before!
@Lindsay, HOW DO I DO THAT? That's and awesome idea!
@Kitty K.
I agree! I used to love straightened hair on myself but turns out I love my curls so much more! Thank you!
@Sandra, yes! It was really hard to get it to curl however I will definitely try it again!

Well depending on the curler there should be some screws somewhere along the base of the clamp and if you undo those they should come off :)
